St Paul’s Collegiate School is a private day and boarding school that offers a boy’s only junior school from Years 9 to 10 (ages 13-15) and a co-educational senior school for Years 11-13 (ages 15-18 years).
The school is located in the middle of Hamilton city on 19-hectares of pristine gardens and grounds. It is close to Westfield Shopping Centre, Porritt Athletic Stadium and the University of Waikato.
St Paul’s welcomes international students either as boarders living on campus or as day students living in homestay accommodation. All students are provided with a safe and secure environment where they can concentrate on their learning and develop their individual talents.
St Paul’s is recognised for its outstanding academic achievements. Students are able to study both NCEA (National Certificate in Educational Achievement), and Cambridge subjects. Small class sizes of less than 20 allow students to receive regular on-on-one learning time with their teachers. This personalised and rigorous programme results in St Paul’s graduates enrolling in world class universities.
Participation in a summer and winter sport is compulsory. The school has first-class sports facilities including an international spec hockey turf, tennis courts, squash courts, heated 25m swimming pool, gymnasium, basketball, volleyball courts and extensive playing fields.
“Boys to Men programme”. In year 10 boys spend 18 weeks at our second campus, Tihoi Outdoor Venture School, located close to Lake Taupo. This is a unique and life changing experience. In addition to a full academic programme based on experiential learning they are also given the opportunity to experience a wide range of outdoor pursuits. These include kayaking, sailing, rock climbing, mountain craft, caving and hiking. Teamwork and strong leadership skills are developed. The boys develop into young men who are independent, responsible and contributing members of society.
St Paul’s developed the ground-breaking agribusiness programme in response to recognising a need within our region and as such won a Prime Minister’s education excellence award ‘Education in Leading – Atakura Award’.
Christianity plays an important role at St Paul’s. Spiritual activities are based on the Anglican ethos however we do welcome students from all denominations.
