F-1 Academic Year Programs, Visitor Visa Audit Programs, & US Cultural Immersion Programs
In addition to working with F-1 visa international students for academic year programs, My American Homestay (MAH)/Globalise also offers short-term programs, such as:
- US High School Audit/Shadow (non-academic credit) Program (for visitor visa students):
- Shadow programs are non-academic credit programs offered during the U.S. school year and can last from 1 week to 10-weeks. The students will have the opportunity to improve their English skills significantly while interacting with American students under the guidance of American teachers in a classroom learning environment. Students must shadow (participate) in all classes assigned to them and complete the required homework; however, no academic credit is earned. The focus will be improvement in a student’s ability to comprehend, read, speak, and write in English.
- US High School Semester Program
- Semester programs are offered either during fall or spring during the U.S. academic school year. Students will improve their English skills significantly while interacting with American students under the guidance of American teachers, while earning academic credit for a semester in a classroom learning environment. The school will issue a transcript reflecting the grades earned during the semester. The focus will be improvement in a student’s ability to comprehend, read, speak, and write in English.
- US Immersion Program (offered during summer)
- Immersion programs are cultural-based, providing international students with an invaluable chance to participate in daily American family life. Basic ESL instruction is sometimes offered during this program.
- US Cultural Home Stay Program
- The Cultural Home Stay program coincides with all other programs listed above. Students will be able to experience American traditions and social customs and be part of an American family, which will also help foster students’ independent living skills as well as broaden young minds. All American host families are thoroughly screened before being matched with students.
