The Woodstock Academy is an independent, co-educational, college preparatory high school for grades 9–12, located in Woodstock, CT.
The mission of The Woodstock Academy is to prepare all students for a lifetime of learning by providing academic rigor, a safe environment, and a diversity of educational experiences which will foster a sense of respect for self and others, and will encourage active investment in family, school, community, and the world.
Founded in 1801, The Woodstock Academy is steeped in tradition, yet continues to look to the future. Improvements include the start of a residential program in 2009 that invites international and domestic students to become part of Academy history.
The two sprawling New England campuses cover over 160 acres. Along with several academic buildings, the Academy contains three college style dormitories, a student and cultural center, an 1,000 seat auditorium, two gymnasiums, as well as two track and turf fields.
The Woodstock Academy teaching staff is extremely passionate and dedicated to students. Over 80% of teachers hold advanced degrees. The student to teacher ratio is 14:1 in order to provide an intimate teaching style that leads to student success.
Academy graduates earned acceptance into exceptional colleges and universities including: Amherst, Berklee College of Music, Boston College, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, MIT, New York University, Penn State, Princeton, Tufts, U.S. Naval Academy, University of Connecticut, Vassar, West Point, Yale, Rhode Island School of Design, and many others.
