Grand River Academy’s student life program is looking forward to hosting fun activities on campus throughout the remainder of the year. GRA Faculty Ms. Amanda Jennings shared that she is looking “to create opportunities for students to connect with each other, to grow in their formation as young men of good character, and to have fun with each other!”
Some of these opportunities include organizing a dance, starting up all school competitions again with activities like dodge-ball, and quiz show/minute-to-win it type games. Additions to local trips and pop-up activities like Bubble Soccer are also on the horizon. There are also opportunities for students to grow in a leadership capacity and to learn more about each other throughout their time here at GRA. This includes specialized faculty-led discussions that we have nicknamed on campus as “fireside chats.”
Have you ever heard of the term fireside chats? They were a series of chats led by then US President Theodore Roose... Grand River Academy’s student life program has taken this concept as a way for students to explore deeper questions, issues that matter to them, and connect with one another on a deeper level. Students have already discussed the topic humility and will be covering the topic of culture this week.
We also want our students to be taking on more leadership roles during their time at GRA and provide additional spaces to talk about the things that matter most to them. During this semester, our Student Council will be working with Dean Thomas to create more on-campus and off-campus opportunities for our students.
