Lake Mary Preparatory School is a college preparatory school focused on challenging our students and teachers to stretch their minds, think critically, and engage in maximizing the value of each opportunity presented to them. Facilities
Lake Mary Preparatory School opened in August of 1999. The school is located on forty-eight acres and consists of a 45,000 square foot building containing classrooms, science laboratories, computer labs, art studios, a band room, a dance room, a fully-equipped weight room, a regulation sized gymnasium, a performance stage, lunchrooms, and administrative of ces. Lake Mary Prepara- tory School offers both day and residential programs. In 2011, LMP opened an additional 13-acre facility that has been home to several hundred residential students. Additionally, a 22,000 square foot elementary school building and an athletic complex, including football and baseball elds, a track, and a ve-court tennis complex round out the school’s campus.
Community
Lake Mary Preparatory School is located in a suburban residential area in Seminole County, 14 miles north of Orlando. The City of Lake Mary is a rapidly growing community with a current population of 16,198. Located three miles east of a major high-tech corridor, chief employers in the area include Hilton Hotels, Siemens, Veritas, First USA, Mitsubishi Power Systems, Convergys, Chase, Veri- zon, and AAA International Headquarters.
Student Body
520: Lower School 190; Middle School 120; Upper School 210. LMP has a cul- turally and economically diverse population. The majority of LMP’s day students come from the Central Florida/Orlando area. The residential students make up one-tenth of the overall population. In total the student population encompasses 57 nationalities.
Faculty
LMP employs 60 teaching faculty, 25 who teach at the upper school level. 35% hold advanced degrees and three hold doctorates in their subject areas.
